This Quick Article Will explain Why, if you’re an athlete, or just looking to get into Yoga, you should definitely check out this power yoga book by sean vigue.
My experience with this book has been great.
I’ve been practicing yoga for over 5 months now and I’ve enjoyed all the benefits that yoga brings to the table.
I’ve progressed a lot since I’ve started.
I’ve even begun to implement yoga into my strength training routine.
Anyways, let’s get into the review.
What’s Inside Power Yoga For Athletes?
The book, Power Yoga For Athletes is great for all yogis, but it is aimed towards athletes.
In the book, there are over 100 different yoga poses.
For each pose, there will be a small chart showing you which sport it benefits, along with how to perform the pose itself.
For example, this pose, “Triangle,” shows you how to do the pose, and then it shows you what “sport it benefits.”
This pose helps out if you play golf, baseball, football, soccer, etc.
What’s also cool is that at the end of the book, there’s a “Training Log By Sport” section.
If you play Rugby, you’d go to this section in the book, and make a workout that consists of some of the poses from this page.
It’s actually really helpful.
Power Yoga Workouts
Workouts, Flows, Sequences….
They all basically mean the same thing.
In this book, they call them “flows.”
These are the workouts of the book.
The first section is called the “Warm-Up/Cool-Down Flows.”
The flows come after the tutorials of all the poses.
I like to do these right before I go to bed or after my lifting workout.
Sometimes I’ll do it in the morning if I have aches or pains in my back.
Then there’s the “Power Flows” Section.
Think of these as the main workouts.
As the image below shows, each “flow” shows you exactly what to do.
If you don’t know or remember how to do a certain pose, Sean Vigue nicely puts a page number so you can quickly refer to the tutorial for said pose.
There are a bunch of flows for you to do that hit different areas of the body.
There are flows for just about everything.
All the flows in this section are for the beginner-to-intermediate level in my opinion.
It’s not until you get to the next section where things start get amped up.
Sean Vigue’s Personal Power Yoga Flow
The last, and hardest, section for the flows in the book is called the “Endurance Flows.”
There are only 2 Flows in this section, and for good reason.
Each flow is 32 poses long with many of the poses having to be repeated for the other side of the body.
So in reality, each flow is around 40-50 poses total.
These are tough…
However, if you can handle these flows, you’ll be in great shape in no time.
Bottom Line On This Power Yoga Book
Whether you’re an athlete, or just getting started with yoga, you should definitely give Power Yoga For Athletes a shot.
Although I do wish you got video tutorials to go along with the book, the directions are enough for you to get started.
